World Of Knowledge

World of Knowledge participates in the following scholarship programs:

McKay Scholarship

mckayThe John M. McKay Scholarship Program allows parents of students with disabilities to choose the best learning environment for their children. Scholarships range from $5,500 to up to $22,000 a year, depending on the level of your child’s diagnosed disability, as indicated by the IEP. The amount of the scholarship is determined by tests that indicate where your child needs support and by a school-based team’s evaluation of your child’s needs. Check out the page to learn more about eligibility.

Step Up For Students

stepupThese scholarships were created by the Florida Legislature in 2001 to assure that low-income children have learning options. Under the law, the scholarships are based on financial need, not how well your child does in school. They are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and can be transferred to other eligible schools if the student moves within the state, or simply wants to attend a different Step Up partner school.

Parents!!!   If your child is going into any grade between Kindergarten – 12th, you may be eligible.  If you do qualify, this scholarship pays for a substantial part of your child’s tuition for the upcoming school year.    Also, non-WOK siblings and students may be eligible for the scholarship!  This could be a great opportunity for your child to transition from Public to Private School at a discounted price. Check out the page to learn more on how this program works.

We also accept PLSA.  This is another branch of Step Up For Students, called PLSA or the Gardiner scholarship.  Please check out for more information.

vpkVoluntary Prekindergarten or VPK gives children a jump start by preparing them for school and enhancing their pre-reading, pre-math, language and social skills. By developing the skills children need to become strong readers and students at an early age, children are more likely to be successful in school. Please click the following link to access the Early Learning Coalition of Pasco-Hernando to find out how to register your child for this program. The program is statewide, so you may register your child in the County of your choice, regardless of the County you live in. World of Knowledge: A Montessori School, located conveniently on the Pasco / Pinellas County line in Holiday Florida, accepts certificates for the VPK program from all surrounding counties. Once you have registered your child at the Pasco County Early Learning Coalition location and are issued your certificate, you may simply bring your certificate to World of Knowledge to register with us! If you have any questions on this process, please contact the Office, please contact the Office, 727-934-3028.
